It is important that Carnival be notified of any special medical, physical or other requirements of guests at the time of booking. During the booking process, you must ask the caller the following:

 

Direct caller: “Do you have needs that require special accommodations including pregnancy?"

Travel Partner: “Do your guests have needs that require special accommodations including pregnancy?"

 

When notified of any special requirements, code the booking with the appropriate guest comment code according to the guest’s special requirements. Forms will be generated automatically based on guest comment code. The form(s) will be sent based on the booking profile. If you need to send additional or replacement forms, please use MKMFAX.

 

Once the booking is completed, let the guest/agent know that a Guest Access Representative will contact them (as needed) to discuss their special requirements. If a guest/agent should want immediate assistance, please transfer the call to the desk at that time or you may use the internal email address: Reservations Special Needs to send a message to the desk for follow-up.

 

Important Note: You may book reservations for guests with Special Needs with the exception of wheelchair users and guests who use a service dog/animals; these calls need to be booked directly with a Guest Access Sales at Extension 70426. The only exception to this policy applies after desk operational hours (Mon-Fri, 9:00am-5:30 EST). If you have a guest who needs a modified cabin or is traveling with a service dog you may handle the call after hours using the guidelines listed under the Wheelchair or Service Animals sections.

The following request are not special needs: any dietary request, food allergies, allergies, gluten free diet, vegan, vegetarian, etc. All dietary requests are handled on board; direct guests to dining staff to discuss their meal options.

 

 

Pregnancy Policy

Pregnancy is not considered a special need and therefore, the caller should not be transferred to the Guest Access Service Desk. The only pregnant guest that the Desk will handle are those that have alerted us to complications with their pregnancy but still meet our requirements (on the day of disembarkation, she is pregnant for 24 weeks + 6 days or less).

 

Guests who on the day of disembarkation are more than 24 weeks + 6 days pregnant will not be allowed to sail. Pregnant women 24 weeks + 6 days or less, on the day of disembarkation, must submit prior to departure, Carnival's Attending Physician Pregnancy Certification Form. This form must be filled out by the guests attending physician certifying that her gestational status is in accordance with this policy, and that the expecting mother is fit to sail. If you are advised that a guest is pregnant (whether at time of booking or anytime thereafter), you must advise the travel agent/direct consumer of our Pregnancy Policy. This policy will not be waived for any reason.
